Businesses are supporting the renovation of the Hyndburn Food Pantry

A local food bank has undergone an exciting new renovation of their premises on Broadway in Accrington.

Hyndburn Food Pantry is an affordable food club, providing a sustainable and dignified model of community food provision. Located at 27 Broadway in the center of Accrington (BB5 1ES) and set up to make shopping a positive experience for those who need a little help, the Food Pantry encourages the people of Hyndburn to choose the food they want and can to eat.

The recent renovation project has seen all old shelves and shelves removed and stripped down to the walls, new shelves, racks and a brand new counter installed, while a brand new kitchen has been installed and the Food Pantry membership system will be updated. also become digital.

The Foodbank received a grant of £38,500 from the National Lottery Fund for the renovation, as well as to improve infrastructure and for the purchase of food, while £4,000 was donated by the Issa Brothers’ EG Foundation for the kitchen installation and local company The Senator Group donated café furniture.

In addition to their food offering, Hyndburn Food Pantry also has a free community cafe, which provides a warm space, refreshments and a place to meet and chat with others. The café is open on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
