Chief Justice Faiz Isa will hear cases at the SC Karachi registry

The Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Faiz Isa, will preside over the hearings at the Registry of the Supreme Court in Karachi from Monday (today). This is the first time in seven months since the oath that Chief Justice Isa will hear cases in Karachi.

Judge Isa will head a three-member bench until the end of the week and oversee a list of 48 cases prepared by the Karachi Registrar throughout the week. It is striking that the list of causes contains a 15-year-old case, which shows that there are several issues that need to be addressed.

Among the cases to be heard are those against Akram Nabi and others, which were originally filed by the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation fifteen years ago. Moreover, three cases filed 14 years ago are also up for hearing before the three-judge bench.

In addition to his judicial duties, Chief Justice Isa will hold meetings with delegations from various judicial bodies, including the Karachi Bar, Sindh High Court Bar, Sindh Bar Council and representatives of the legal community, during his visit to Karachi this week.
