Actor files FIR over misleading AI-generated video

Ranveer Singh Deepfake: The latest victim of an AI-generated deepfake video that recently went viral was Ranveer Singh. The interview he had with news agency ANI during his recent trip to Varanasi is authentic; However, an AI-enabled tool was used to create the audio.

In the deepfake, Ranveer Singh was seen slamming Prime Minister Narendra Modi over inflation and unemployment.

At the end of the deepfake video, a message was shown encouraging viewers to vote for Congress.

Issuing the statement, the spokesperson said, according to IndiaTV, “Yes, we have filed a police complaint and an FIR has been lodged against the handle that promoted Mr Ranveer Singh’s AI-generated deepfake video.”

Ranveer spoke highly of the improvements made to public infrastructure during his visit to the ancient city of Varanasi, which is also one of the oldest pilgrimage sites in the world. He also shared his ‘divine’ experience of the place.

Ranveer Singh’s upcoming projects

Ajay Devgn, Tiger Shroff, Deepika Padukone, Akshay Kumar and Ranveer Singh will all be seen in Rohit Shetty’s cop drama ‘Singham Again’, which will see Singh reprise his role as Simmba. He will also star in ‘Don 3’, directed by Farhan Akhtar, and will release the following year.

“We would like to make it clear that Aamir Khan has never supported any political party during his 35-year career. He has dedicated his efforts to raising awareness through Election Commission awareness campaigns for many past elections,” Aamir Khan’s spokesperson had said in a statement.
