Detail in Eminem photo reveals major milestone

Rapper Eminem will release a new album this year, according to his longtime friend and collaborator Dr. Dre confirmed.

The Lose yourself rapper took to Instagram this week to share a photo of himself holding a sobriety chip in his hand to celebrate the milestone.

The coin had the number 16 written in a triangle with the words ‘Unity’, ‘Service’ and ‘Recovery’ written in a circle.

Eminem – born Marshall Mathers III – was congratulated by several stars and fans in the comments section of his post.

“Sweet 16. So proud of you,” wrote Hot 97 DJ Peter Rosenberg.

“Biggest influence and mentor,” added Eminem’s brother Nathan Samra-Mathers.

“Good job brother. Huge,” said Oscar-nominated filmmaker Matthew Cooke.

“BIG DEAL. Congratulations man, thank you for being an example,” said musician Ekoh.

Eminem has long spoken about his past struggles with substance abuse and alcohol. In 2007, the Real smart Shady The 51-year-old rapper suffered a near-fatal overdose after taking a huge dose of methadone.

Brinking death forced Eminem to give up his pill-popping lifestyle and get in shape.

During a 2015 interview with Men’s magazine, the Detroit MC revealed that he weighed over 250 lbs (104 kg) when he was addicted to Vicodin, Valium, Ambien and methadone.

“The coating on Vicodin and Valium that I have been taking for years leaves a hole in your stomach,” he explained at the time. “So to avoid stomach aches, I was constantly eating – and badly.”

Eminem said that after he got out of rehab, he figured out a way to lose weight and “function sober.”

“So I started running,” he explained. “It gave me a natural high of endorphins, but it also helped me sleep, so it was perfect.”

The Godzilla rapper called himself a ‘damn hamster’ because of the amount he ran on the treadmill during his massive weight loss journey, covering 15 miles a day.

In 2022, Eminem also opened up about his 2007 overdose during his acceptance speech when he was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

“Music basically saved my life… I will keep this as painless as possible. I’m stuttering and stuff. I’m probably not supposed to be here tonight for a number of reasons,” he said.

“I almost died of an overdose in 2007, which was horrible.”
