Nicolas Ghesquière presents the Louis Vuitton Prefall 2024 collection in Shanghai

Continuing a journey of discovery that spans ten years of creativity at Louis Vuitton, Nicolas Ghesquière presents the Prefall 2024 collection this season with a new Voyager show in Shanghai.

Echoes of previous designs highlight a decade in fashion, reflecting the roots of a noble French fashion house and the signature emblems that make it unique. Today they are renewed with unbridled freedom of tone and form. An exuberance of color and gaiety honors the enormous stylistic vitality of China’s youth, and for this collection the House collaborated with young contemporary artist Sun Yitian, whose charming, figurative bestiary enlivens contrasting silhouettes. Short confronts long. Sometimes they unite, where sophistication and daring come together.

Opposing prints make for happy marriages. Classicism goes tangentially and gives outfits a charming look. In this fast collection, accessories underline the story and tell in their own way the innovative story behind the great trunk maker. The Petite Malle, the Twist, the On The Go, the Diane, the Loop, the Side Trunk, the Atlantis, the Noé, the Cannes and the Camera Box – as well as the Capucines and the Dauphine – open new chapters and return in flexible versions. Meanwhile, the Slim Trunk joins the illustrious ranks of the Maison’s bags, timeless witnesses to a long history that continues to unfold.

The Prefall 2024 collection is presented at the Long Museum, which was founded by husband-and-wife collectors Mr. Liu Yiqian and Ms. Wang Wei, and is named for its elongated funnel shape. It is the largest private museum in China and contains the country’s richest collection, including traditional, modern and contemporary Chinese art, Chinese revolutionary art and contemporary works from Asia, Europe and the United States.
