On Earth Day, Prime Minister Modi reaffirmed India’s commitment to environmental protection

New Delhi (India), April 22 (ANI): On Earth Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reiterated India’s commitment to environmental protection. Prime Minister spoke about ‘Mission Life’, a lifestyle change to protect the environment.

Every year on April 22, Earth Day serves as a global reminder of our responsibility to protect the planet by highlighting challenges such as climate change, pollution, deforestation and biodiversity loss. It requires a change of course towards a sustainable future, urging both individuals and companies to take proactive steps.
Companies are leading the way in encouraging innovative sustainability measures. Their adoption of pioneering practices to reduce carbon footprints and embrace environmentally friendly solutions plays a crucial role in promoting a more environmentally conscious aircraft.
Vehicle emissions are a major cause of air pollution in urban areas.
Various studies show that they contribute 20 to 30 percent of PM 2.5 at the respiratory level, and 8 percent of India’s total greenhouse gas emissions come from the transportation sector. In Delhi, vehicle emissions exceed 30 percent.
Globally, the transport sector is responsible for a quarter of total emissions, of which road transport accounts for three quarters of transport emissions.

Passenger cars make up the largest share of this and emit approximately 45 percent CO2.
Sustainable transportation options such as ride-sharing are a better solution for urban cities. Research from the World Economic Forum, WEF, shows that sustainable warehouses can significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 20 percent and save energy costs by 30 percent.
This underlines the potential for the warehousing sector to become a focal point for sustainability and contribute to a more environmentally friendly and resilient supply chain.
Industries can reduce their carbon footprint by reusing and recycling materials, renewable energy sources such as solar energy, energy-efficient lighting and implementing waste management.
