Your sustainable lookbook in spring style

Half the thrill of fashion is in the chase: whether it’s saving everything old, making it new again, noticing last season’s favorites, DIYing spring’s hottest trends or renting of clothes for that new item without wasting all your money. This way you shop smart (and sustainably). And it looks Good.

Blouse price on request, Oksana Karavanska. Shorts, six pieces for $98 a month, Saachi rented from Nuuly. Boots, second-hand Circle G. Rings, $75 each, Maison Miru.

You didn’t know resale could look like this. The trick? Look for pieces with similar vibes to create cohesive, unique fits. Here, a new, slow-fashion button-up with statement sleeves and rented cutoffs are brought together by resale Western boots for a look that’s far greater than the sum of its parts (though the boots themselves are pretty incredible).

Sustainable cotton top, $45, Lili Sidonio. Pants, six pieces for $98 a month, Saachi rented from Nuuly. Sunglasses, $125 and $74, vintage Versace from Poshmark. Bracelet, $90, and ring, $75, Maison Miru. Earrings, $45, made by Mena.

Vintage-y tie-dye patterns or crochet textures are timeless, so if you happen to come across these types of treats, seize the moment. (We rented these pants, but they have major ’70s energy, don’t they?)

Top, price on request, Made by Mena. Skirt, six pieces for $98 per month, Stove rented from Nuuly. Sneakers, Adidas from Poshmark. Hat, glasses and bag, thrift store. Earrings, garage sale. Necklace and bracelet, Poshmark.

She’s an eco-conscious queen: this top is upcycled with literal pieces of trash from the streets of New York City. The sunglasses, hat and jewelry are all thrifted – and the cute floral skirt (rent her!) really drives home the whole Earth Day Goddess aesthetic.

Jacket, Adam Selman from Poshmark. Sustainable cotton dress, $326, Beyond by Vera. Flats, $52, Skechers made from recycled materials. Earrings, $45, made by Mena. Necklace, $110, Maison Miru. Ring, vintage from Etsy.

This slow-fashion dress gets a touch of vintage cool with the hand-painted (!!!) denim jacket and recycled-material flats for a look that’s good (get it?).

Corset, thrifted and embellished by hand. Top, $65, The Incorporated. Pants, $195, and earrings, $45, made by Mena. Necklace, $90, rings on the right, $75 each, ring on the left, $70, and chains as a belt, $210 each, Maison Miru. Ear cuff, own model.

The floral appliqué corset (a huge trend on the runways during spring) was a DIY project (we added super cheap flowers from the craft store to a corset find from the thrift store). Wear it over a hand-painted crop top and pair with found patchwork denim to complete the “I made it own” look.

Jacket, price on request, Rock ‘N Karma. Great, ReoRia from Poshmark. Skirt, price upon request, and necklace, $124, made by Mena. Shoes, second hand Forever 21.

The patterns are pattern-making! Swirling marble effects on an upcycled skirt, ’80s pop-art boleros and color-blocked corsets: too much will never be enough. Don’t forget the chain with metal pins and fringe (trash to treasure never looked so good, girl).

Top and skirt, $200 for the set, The Incorporated. Shoes, sparingly. Bracelet, $120, Maison Miru from recycled materials. Keychain, second hand vintage Dior.

This two-piece eco-friendly handmade newsprint set is the stuff Y2K nostalgia dreams are made of. And designer dupe slides (thanks, neighborhood thrift store) bring the whole thing back to the future.

Top and trousers, price on request, Nazarene Amictus. Earrings, $45, made by Mena. Necklace, $90, Maison Miru.

Make your fit a bouquet of beauty: cute rosette sleeves on a ’60s mod print crop top plus crochet-encrusted flowers on upcycled jeans (a sustainable small brand). Who *doesn’t* want to look like the field of flowers they’re frolicking through?
