In a striking yet poignant rebuttal, the Denkyirahemaa office of the good people of Denkyira Traditional Area has issued a rebuttal to the attacks on Queen Mother Nana Ama Ayensua Saara III by Nana Obiri Boahen.

In a statement issued on Friday, April 19, 2024, and signed by Advocate EK Nanah, it was read in part that the Office of the Denkyirahemaa, Nana Ama Ayensua Saara III, wished to categorically state that the revered Queen is not aware of any imaginary war with the famous lawyer to justify such attacks on her.

Further, the statement states that if Nana Obiri Boahen has any problem with the Denkyirahemaa, either personally or in his professional capacity, one would expect him to go to court, file suits and ensure that the same is duly addressed to the Denkyirahemaa be served instead of submitting to a public trial, which would benefit neither his clients nor his professional reputation as a lawyer.

The statement ended with this warning: “Respectfully let the distinguished attorney know that this is not party politics, please.”

Re: Obiri Boahen “attacks” Denkyirahemaa:

The attention of Denkyirahemaa’s office has been drawn to the publication of a story on the above title by the news portal www.mordenghana.com.

The office of the Denkyirahemaa wishes to state that the revered Queen Mother of Denkyira, Nana Ama Ayensua Saara III, is not aware of such imaginary war with renowned lawyer Nana Obiri Boahen to justify such so-called ‘attacks’.

If the experienced lawyer does indeed have problems with the Denkyirahemaa, both on a personal level and in his professional duties, you would expect that he would go to court, file his lawsuits and ensure that the lawsuits are properly served on the Denkyirahemaa , rather than indulge in a public trial, which would benefit neither his clients nor his own reputation as a reputable lawyer of his stature.

For the avoidance of doubt, Denkyirahemaa is never aware of any such matters referred to by the lawyer in the publications. She intends to ensure peace and unity in the Denkyiraman, and such trivialities would not distract her.

We will advise the learned lawyer to follow the prescribed procedure in dealing with legal, traditional or chieftaincy issues, instead of raising such empty noises which lawyers of his ilk call ‘brutum fulmen’, unless he does his utmost to attract undeserved attention, which does not serve the interests of his client.

Respectfully let the reputable lawyer know that this is not party politics.
