Analyzing Tennessee Titans’ roster ahead of 2024 NFL draft: Defense

Denny Simmons/The Tennessean/USA TODAY NETWORK

Cornerback: L’Jarius Sneed, Chidobe Awuzie, Roger McCreary, Tre Avery, Caleb Farley, Eric Garror, Anthony Kendall, Tay Gowan

On paper, the Titans sport one of the best cornerback trios in the NFL with Sneed and Awuzie on the boundary, and McCreary in the slot — but there is no shortage of question marks behind those three.

Avery and Garror are currently the two best depth options, but Avery routinely gets exposed when he steps into a bigger role and, while Garror was quietly solid down the stretch in 2023, the jury is still very much out on him.

We already know not to expect anything from Farley, who has been unable to stay healthy and hasn’t played well when on the field. Kendall and Gowan are the biggest long shots to make the roster from this group and are special teams contributors, at best.

Level of need: Low
