SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA — As the weekend draws to a close, we’ve rounded up the stories you might have missed Saturday and Sunday to get you ready for Monday.

But before we dive into Southern California’s top stories, residents should know that cooler weather is expected this week. The cooling trend brings a chance of drizzle or light showers, according to the National Weather Service.

“A cool and cloudy weather pattern will be in effect for most of this week as strong onshore currents and a deeper marine layer will bring low clouds and fog to the coast and coastal valleys,” NWS Los Angeles forecasters wrote Monday. “High temperatures will cool significantly below normal for this time of year on Tuesday as a series of low pressure systems will move across the area this week. There is a chance of drizzle or very light rain this week as these systems pass through.”

In other news, authorities say an intruder broke into the home of Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass. The suspect was taken into custody.

A Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputy who was injured in a fire at a mobile shooting range in October has died, officials said. Deputy Alfredo “Freddy” Flores died after a long struggle recovering from injuries sustained in the line of duty.

Fifteen people were taken to hospitals after a streetcar crashed at Universal Studios Hollywood, authorities said. The conditions of the victims were not immediately clear, although most were believed to have minor injuries.

A man is believed to have drowned at a place known as Rosie’s Dog Beach in Long Beach. The medical examiner’s office took the man’s body to conduct a positive examination and determine the cause of death.

A man who matches the description of a suspect from a sexual abuse returned to the same San Diego home days later, authorities said. The police distributed photos of the man last weekend.

Additionally, two lucky lottery players in Southern California have SuperLotto Plus tickets worth more than $19,000. The tickets were sold at a liquor store in Orange County and a gas station in San Bernardino County, the California Lottery announced. Each ticket was worth $19,302.
