Dominic West jokes about cheating scandal with Lily James

While there seems to be another celebrity scandal every week, it’s hard to forget the moment Dominic West denied cheating rumors in 2020 by kissing his wife Catherine FitzGerald in front of their castle. The whole situation, including the photos of him cuddling with Lily James, was quite hard to watch.

Now, a few years after the scandal, West’s comments about the situation continue to raise eyebrows.

“I hesitate to speak on behalf of my wife because it was clearly devastating, especially for her,” The crown said star in an interview with The timesper People. And while this first part seems sensible, West started laughing and said that he and FitzGerald “joked about it sometimes.”

“Every time we went out together, the papers always said we were ‘putting on a show of unity.’ Even if all we were doing was parking the car or whatever, even if that couldn’t be further from the truth,” he said. “And so when we go out, we’re basically saying, ‘Are we going to have a show of unity in London?'”
