Halocek named superintendent of Ohio Veterans Homes

Terry Holecek



Terry Holecek started this week as superintendent of Ohio Veterans Homes.

Holecek is an Ohio licensed nursing home administrator and healthcare executive who has more than 25 years of leadership experience in national long-term care, senior living and home care organizations.

According to a press release from the Ohio Veteran Homes, he has successfully led operations at multiple facilities and has been recognized for his achievements in improving the resident experience, quality outcomes and employee satisfaction.

Holecek began his first week with visits to the two statehouses in Sandusky and Georgetown, accompanied by Director Deborah Ashenhurst. The facilities serve hundreds of wartime Ohio veterans.

“I am thrilled to have Terry join our leadership team as our Ohio Superintendent

Veterans homes. He is a committed professional and proven leader,” said Ashenhurst. “Providing quality care and comfort to our veterans is an important part of our mission and I expect Terry will continue the emphasis on person-centered care and continuous improvement for our staff and residents.”

Holecek earned both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in gerontology and healthcare administration from Kent State University, as well as a core knowledge certification in long-term care management from Ohio State University.
