ASBTDC will offer five sessions for small businesses in May

JONESBORO – Small business owners and those interested in starting their own small business will have several options to attend a free counseling session this May through the Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center (ASBTDC) at Arkansas State University.

ASBTDC provides one-on-one confidential guidance to business owners and entrepreneurs. Key areas of assistance include business planning, financial analysis, market research, loan packaging, growth and expansion, marketing and profitability.

Startup Summit sessions cover the basics of startups, financing options, marketing and business plans in seminar format.

The events will take place as follows:

– Wednesday, May 8, ASBTDC Business Advisor Rheanna Branscum will lead consulting sessions from 10 a.m. to noon at Cherokee Village at Spring River Innovation Hub, located at 7 East Cherokee Village Mall.

– Wednesday, May 8, ASBTDC Business Advisor Robert Bahn will lead counseling sessions in Walnut Ridge at the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce, located at 109 Southwest Front St., from 1 to 3 p.m.

– Tuesday, May 14, Laura Miller, ASBTDC Director, and Branscum will lead a Startup Summit Seminar from 10am to 3pm in Newport at the Newport Area Chamber of Commerce, located at 209 Hazel St.

– Tuesday, May 21, Bahn will lead counseling sessions from 10 a.m. to noon at the Trumann Chamber of Commerce, located at 225 AR 463.

– Tuesday, May 21, Miller will lead consulting sessions in Paragould at The Generating Innovative Network, located at 200-212 North Pruett St, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

– Tuesday, May 21, Bahn will lead counseling sessions in Blytheville at the Mississippi County Regional Chamber of Commerce, located at 300 West Walnut St, from 1-3 p.m.

These events are available free of charge thanks to Mission co-sponsors FNBC Bank, First Community Bank, Northeast Arkansas Regional Intermodal Authority, East Arkansas Planning & Development District, Simmons Bank and First Security Bank.

There are a limited number of places available for the advice sessions. There is no charge to attend the Startup Summit Seminar or consulting sessions, but registration is required. Call 870-972-3517 to register.
