Carol Bushee – Brainerd Dispatch

Carol Wilma Bushee, 81, of Grand Forks, ND, passed away peacefully at home Friday, April 19, 2024, with her daughters by her side after a short battle with cancer.

Carol was born April 14, 1943 in Hankinson ND. The daughter of Edward and Rose Pelzl.

Carol is survived by her daughters Sande (Mark) Kerr of Rapid City, SD, Gail (Robert) Clement of Crosby, MN, and Renee (Scott) Borden of Grand Forks, ND. Extended family Robert (Tina) Leikam of Taft, CA, Catherine (Larry) Champ of Denton, TX, 12 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and brother Charles Pelzl of Omaha, NE.

Carol is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Galen Bushee.

Carol worked for Altru Heath Systems in Grand Forks, ND prior to her retirement. She was a very gifted artist and took pride in her ability to quilt, knit, crochet and paint for the people she loved. Because she had the gift of conversation, everyone she met became a friend.

The family would like to express our deepest gratitude to St. Croix Hospice and prefer that memorials be sent to them. Mom and Dad’s wish was to be part of the University of North Dakota’s Deeded Body Program. A private family service will be held at a later date.
