BOLDUC: Let’s make a difference for our veterans

After 36 years of service in the United States Military and six years as veterans, Sharon and I deeply understand and appreciate the sacrifices made by those who have served in the armed forces. We have been volunteer supporters of veterans organizations in New Hampshire and across the country, serving as board members, guest speakers and fundraisers while sharing the personal tragedies of our veterans and their families.

Since our retirement from the military, we have worked closely with veteran-focused 501c3 organizations that specifically serve the needs of veterans, ensuring those who have served our country receive the care and assistance they deserve.

Supporting 501c3 organizations that provide services to veterans and their families is critical in bridging the gaps left by government agencies like the Veterans Administration. These community-based programs deeply understand the needs of veterans and their families and can tailor their services to those specific needs. By supporting these organizations, we empower communities to take care of themselves and ensure that those who have sacrificed for our country receive the support they deserve.

I learned a lot during my campaign for the U.S. Senate and saw the very best of New Hampshire and its great citizens. Although we came up short, our generous donors left a positive balance in our campaign account at the end of the race. Sharon and I are donating our excess U.S. Senate campaign dollars to organizations on the front lines so veterans can get the help they need.

We are proud to support the Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs, Homeland Heroes, DDS4VETs, The Semper Fi Foundation, Vouchers for Veterans, VetLinks and Mind Your Brain. These organizations provide a wide range of services that support the diverse needs of veterans. From providing veterans with service dogs, food and furniture to providing traumatic brain injury support, each of these organizations plays a critical role in improving the lives of veterans and their families.

By supporting these organizations, we help raise awareness of the challenges veterans face and the importance of providing them with the necessary support and resources. We pray and hope that these donations inspire others to contribute to the well-being of those who have served our country.

Service to others and giving back to those who help others is an essential aspect of creating a compassionate and supportive society. By supporting 501c3 organizations that provide services to veterans and their families, we show gratitude for their sacrifices and ensure they receive the support they need and deserve. It is essential to be aware of where our donations go and to support organizations that are transparent and responsible in their use of funds. Together we can make a difference in the lives of those who have given so much to our country.

God bless and live free or die.
