Park City police have made a series of reports of moose

Park City police continued to receive reports of animal sightings in mid-April, including a series of cases involving moose.

The agency reports on wildlife regularly, and the most recent cases appeared similar to traditional sightings.

Police officers responding to wildlife sightings usually try to ensure the safety of the animals, pedestrians and drivers.



The most recent cases include a series of moose reports. They include:

• On Friday, April 19 at 8:25 a.m., a moose was spotted on the corner of what was described as a “business complex” in the area of ​​the intersection of Park Avenue and Saddle View Way.



• On Tuesday, April 16 at 6:16 p.m., a moose was spotted near what was described as a park near Park Avenue and Saddle View Way.

• On April 16 at 4:37 a.m., a moose was spotted near Park Avenue. The animal was “pushed off the roadway,” but public police logs provided no details.

• On Monday, April 15 at 7:55 p.m., a moose was spotted “running along the road” near the intersection of Park Avenue and Prospector Drive. Police were told that it appeared the animal was preparing to cross one of the roads.

• On April 15 at 2:09 p.m., a moose, described as large, was spotted near the road in the area of ​​the intersection of Thaynes Canyon Drive and Webster Drive. The animal was located near a bus stop.

Public police logs provide no details on whether the same animal may have been involved in different reports, but some cases were recorded in close proximity to each other.

At 8:40 a.m. on Wednesday, April 17, a duck was spotted in a lane on Deer Valley Drive, approximately 600 feet from a traffic light. It was not clear from public police logs whether the bird was still alive and whether it was a carcass.
