Officer shot, injured on motorcycle in West Covina – San Gabriel Valley Tribune

The search was on for a gunman after a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department motorcycle officer was shot near the 10 Freeway in West Covina on Monday, April 22, authorities said.

About 2:45 p.m., the deputy was in the area near Barranca and Garvey avenues, near the freeway entrance, when he was shot, LASD spokesman Nichole Nishida said. He was taken to a hospital and found to be stable.

Information about the suspect, or whether or not the deputy was on duty, was not immediately available.

Authorities searched the area for the suspect Monday afternoon, Nishida said.
