The commercial department team of Jabalpur Rail Division on Monday discovered fake quality of food materials and 80 irregular and ticketless passengers during a surprise inspection in three long-distance trains at three railway stations. The team conducted an inspection of Mumbai – Howrah Mail Train No. 12322 and found spurious quality of potatoes, onions, fried fish and boiled eggs which are dangerous to human health. The counterfeit food was thrown away. In addition, fuel, kitchen utensils and packaged foodstuffs were checked in the storage vehicle.

While checking pantry cars and passenger bogies in Pune – Danapur Mail Express No. 12149 and Mumbai – Banaras Superfast Train No. 12167, the Commercial Department team found 13 passengers without tickets and recovered a financial penalty of Rs 18,000, while 65 passengers with irregular tickets traveled. and a financial penalty of approximately Rs 43,000 was imposed on them. Together with the trains, the team carried out inspections at food stalls at train stations. During the campaign, waiting ticket holders traveling in the air-conditioned coaches were removed from the trains and imposed a financial penalty. Surprise inspections were conducted by teams from the commercial department led by assistant commercial manager Akhilesh Kumar Nayak and Gunnar Singh, comprising supervisors and RPF personnel.
