Developer agrees to pre-sale for 278,000 sq ft unit

A commercial property developer has reached an agreement with MiTek for the pre-sale of a 278,000 sq ft unit at Worcester Six Business Park.

Stoford has entered into a pre-sales agreement for its Worcester Six Business Park program with MiTek, a provider of integrated software, services, engineering products and automated solutions to the construction industry worldwide.

The developer has applied for planning permission to build a new 25,000 sq m manufacturing facility at the southern extension of Worcester Six, located near junction 6 of the M5 motorway.

Stoford managing director Edward Peel said: “This is a hugely important deal for Worcester Six and a huge boost for jobs in Worcestershire. MiTek’s commitment to establish a new headquarters in Worcester Six supports our vision to expand the business park and improve the location’s deliverability for occupiers. We look forward to obtaining the building permit and getting started on another unit.”

If the plans are approved, MiTek will acquire full ownership of the building upon completion.

Stoford has recently commenced phase two infrastructure works at Worcester Six, which will enable the development of the site’s southern extension, opening up more than 60 hectares of land.

Once completed, phase two is expected to deliver a further 680,000 square meters of new employment space.

James Morgan, managing director of MiTek’s EMEA operations said: “As demand for offsite construction continues to grow, this building will provide the manufacturing capacity to support the continued growth of our customers across Europe, as well as provide spaces that inspire creativity and foster collaboration . and stimulate innovation.”
