Vodafone Business wants to help SMEs increase productivity and security

Following research which found that almost half of small to medium sized businesses (SMEs) in Britain believed they could increase profits and efficiency by making better use of digital tools, but two-fifths felt they did not have the had the knowledge to get the most out of it. has put together a “comprehensive” suite of collaboration and cybersecurity tools for such companies.

The main aim of Vodafone’s Your Business Can campaign is to help SMEs easily find the essential digital tools they need to increase productivity and improve cybersecurity, making businesses with fewer than 250 employees aware of the enormous scale of small business solutions beyond mobile.

The research shows that 46% of UK SMEs believe they can increase profits and efficiency by making better use of digital tools, while 40% admit they don’t currently have enough knowledge to get the most out of them to fetch.

The suite of collaboration and cybersecurity tools includes Microsoft Office 365, Vodafone Business and RingCentral Unified Communications, business broadband connectivity with dedicated Internet access, and business and mobile security against cyber threats with Lookout for Business and Trend Micro.

Your Business Can is the second SME-oriented campaign that Vodafone Business is launching in just a few weeks. In March, it launched a channel called IT Hubs, designed to offer new local franchise opportunities in an effort to help organizations save the time or resources of maintaining control of IT domains or managing multiple vendors.

The Vodafone Business IT Hubs channel program is suitable for “both budding entrepreneurs and IT experts” and is part of a strategic drive by Vodafone to help SMEs better manage and get the most out of their IT solutions. Vodafone Business believes this will enable IT experts and entrepreneurs across the UK to become their own bosses. The target group for the hubs are small and medium-sized businesses that have limited resources and do not have their own IT support function.

To explain the rationale for the move at the time, Vodafone Business cited research from the British Chambers of Commerce warning that many SMEs require support for their IT needs. Nearly two in five (37%) felt they did not have the capacity to manage multiple IT suppliers, contracts and licenses, while a quarter (25%) felt their current digital tools were not resilient enough to manage their protect your business against online threats such as phishing, ransomware and password hacking.
