Rugby League News Live: Hull FC near coaching appointment and Hull KR re-sign to swap deal

Sam Halsall insists he had no hesitation in signing a contract extension with Huddersfield Giants. The winger has signed a new long-term contract, which will keep him at the club until the end of the 2027 season.

Halsall joined the club as part of a deal that saw Jake Wardle move to the Warriors and he made a strong impact in his first season at the club, scoring eight tries and being one of their most consistent performers in a difficult 2023 season. He has impressed again this year, scoring five tries so far this season.

“It was a pretty easy decision for me,” Halsall said. “There was no doubt in my mind where I wanted to play, they believed in me a lot, Ian Watson has been very good to me, so it was an easy decision.

“It was a challenging move in the first place but the offer came from Huddersfield and it was an opportunity for me to gain more playing time and I have never looked back.”
