Park Dept. seeking information on vandals at River Park Square

A few employees from the Plymouth Park Department were cleaning up the vandalism at River Park Square Monday morning.

Thanks to security cameras, the parks department has photos of the three men who vandalized River Park Square just after 1 a.m. Saturday morning. The suspects entered from the north and wore dark clothing and balaclavas. They spray-painted “CMCK” on the north end walls of the concession building and also painted the lettering on the concrete podiums.

Park workers were able to remove the vast majority of the building’s paint, but will still have to repaint the entire wall so it resembles the rest of the building. On stage it is a bit more difficult to get the spray paint out of the concrete. Crews have washed and scrubbed the paint and it has lightened, but additional work will be required to completely remove it.

A vandalism report will be filed with Plymouth Police and the video and photos will be shared with police. Anyone who may have been near River Park Square around 1 a.m. Saturday morning and saw the three individuals should contact the Plymouth Park Department or Plymouth Police.

The vandals will be charged with a crime for the damage and may have to pay compensation or perform community service.

Readers are reminded that charge information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe that a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and have the right to be represented by counsel and have the right to a jury where the state is required to present evidence beyond a reasonable doubt before a guilty verdict can be rendered.
