5 – BINGHAMTON UNIVERSITY

One of the largest SUNY campuses, Binghamton is one of four university centers in the SUNY system. It is a public research university and more than 18,000 students attend classes. Binghamton was ranked 83rd nationally.

4- STONY BROOK UNIVERSITY

Along with the University at Buffalo, Stoney Brook is a flagship campus in the SUNY system. It is also the largest public university by area in New York State. Stony Brook was ranked 77th nationally

3- SUNY ONEONTA

SUNY Oneontai is one of the founders of the SUNY system. The Oneonta Normal School was officially renamed the State University College of Education at Oneonta in 1951. SUNY Oneonta has approximately 6,000 students taking classes there. Nationally they ranked 75th.

2 – SUNY MARITIME

Founded in 1874, SUNY Maritime was the first college of its kind (federally sanctioned, offering commercial nautical education) to be established in the United States. It is one of seven degree-granting maritime academies in the country. Nationally they ranked 40th.

1 – SUNY POLYTECHNICAL INSTITUTE

SUNY Polytechnic Institute offers more than 25 different undergraduate degrees, 18 graduate-level degrees and five doctoral degrees. Nationally it ranked 9th.

Wear on the campus of SUNY New Paltz NY

On Thursday (June 23, 2022), this unassuming, large black bear walked onto campus and decided to climb a tree. SUNY New Paltz Police, along with NYS DEC Police, monitored the situation at the scene. They were able to encourage campus visitors to return home without incident.
