Israeli conscientious objectors Tal Mitnick and Sofia Orr were sentenced to 45 days in prison and 15 days of probation for their refusal to participate in the war in Gaza and the ongoing occupation.

Mitnick was sentenced on Tuesday, April 16, to his fourth term in military prison, which amounts to 150 days. Orr was sentenced for a third time on Thursday, April 18, which amounted to an 85-day prison sentence.

It is worth noting that the additional 15 days of probation is unprecedented and is intended to deter the refusers by allowing the military court to extend their next sentence beyond the 45-day limit.

Besides Mitnick and Orr, conscientious objector Ben Arad is serving his first term of twenty days in prison.
