Manoj Banjapyee has rejected Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Devdas for THIS reason

Some time ago, in an interview with Etimes, Manoj had spoken out about turning down the role of Chunnillal that Jackie Shroff later played. The actor said, “I have always wanted to play Devdas. There were a few adjustments, but no one thought to cast me. I would love to play that character.”

Manoj, who is celebrating his 55th birthday today (April 23), has shown a keen interest in playing the lead actor in any film based on Devdas. But he said he was only offered a supporting role in the film.

Set in the early 20th century, the romantic tragedy tells an endearing love story between Dev and Paro amid class divides.
