Unravel those behind the death of our breadwinner – Family of murdered cleric cries out

The family of the late Morris Fadehan has called on the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, to unravel those behind the murder of the cleric.

The late cleric, Evangelist Morris Gbaju Fadehan, was gruesomely murdered at the Celestial Church of Christ, Grace of Comfort Parish, Omitoto, llode in lle-ifę on Monday, February 26, 2024, OSUN DEFENDER reports.

In a speech signed by Fadehan Elizabeth and Agbeniga Comfort, the family appealed to the police boss to intensify investigations into the killings to arrest more perpetrators. The family noted that they have been receiving threats from various quarters since the start of the case.

The family who confirmed the arrest of the perpetrator by the police also claimed that more perpetrators who masterminded the murder are at large and therefore called for their arrest.

The address reads in part: “We are the relatives of M/S/E Morris Gbaju Fadehan, who was gruesomely murdered on Monday, February 26, 2024 at Celestiał Church of Christ, Grace of Comfort Parish, Omitoto, llode in lle-ifę .

“Although the Nigerian Police have arrested one Lekan Ogundipe, who was told he had confessed to the callous murder of our easy-going father, we believe that more needs to be done.

“We believe that if the police were determined to intensify the investigation into this massacre, more perpetrators would be arrested.

“There have been several misunderstandings between the deceased and Lekan. Whenever this happened, he (Lekan) has many followers in the church who he always uses against the deceased.

“Lekan could not have carried out that dastardly act alone that day without an assistant from his fellow haters of the dead in the church. We would like to let the general public know that since the case began, some of us have received several strange calls to drop the case.

“There are countless threats from different angles, saying that we want to fight the powerful and influential people in society.

“The sudden interest shown by some in Osun State in the case came as a surprise to us.

“Honestly, we have no one but God, because this now takes on another dimension. We therefore call on the Inspector General of Police to look into this matter and help the helpless. This matter must be thoroughly investigated and no sinner should go unpunished.

“The international community and reputable non-governmental organizations in Nigeria must please speak out for us.

“Life has been so miserable for the wife and children of our beloved Fadehan since his untimely death. No one to take care of them as a father. He was a perfect example of a family man during his lifetime and his contributions to the extended family can never be overlooked.”
