Minister for Sustainable Development and CEO of the Economic Development Board meets global financial institutions

Washington, April 22 (BNA): Noor bint Ali Alkhulaif, Minister of Sustainable Development and Managing Director of the Bahrain Economic Development Board, met with a number of international financial, banking and advisory institutions. Khalid Ibrahim Humaidan, Governor of the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB), attended the meetings, held on the sidelines of the Minister and Governor’s participation in the Spring Meetings of the IMF and the World Bank in Washington.

The Minister met with Citibank, BNP Paribas, Lazard and Center View Partners, during which she reaffirmed the leading role of the financial and banking sector as a major contributor to economic growth in the Kingdom, noting its importance in creating investment opportunities emphasized. Minister Alkhulaif highlighted Bahrain’s continued efforts to create an enabling environment for the banking sector.

The meetings discussed topics of common interest and the latest developments in the global economy, and underlined the importance of international events that allow the exchange of experiences and best practices between financial and banking institutions.
