Man shot in Whittier reaches hospital, but dies – Whittier Daily News

A man was shot in Whittier and died at a hospital on Tuesday morning, April 23.

The medical examiner’s office had not yet identified him, but Whittier police Lt. Jerry Reyes said the victim was a Whittier resident.

Staff at PIH Health Whittier Hospital called police at 12:15 a.m. about the victim, who was taken there, and gave police a location where the shooting occurred, Lt. Michael Przybyl said.

Officers found evidence in the 8000 block of Greenleaf Avenue, but did not say what they discovered.

Police believe there was “some kind of altercation” that led to the shooting, Lt. Jerry Reyes said.

A gray or silver four-door sedan was seen in the area, he added. Detectives do not have a description of the shooter or shooters.
