Katy Perry Grilled on Taylor Swift’s ‘TTPD’ Album: Fans Are Skeptical, Claiming ‘You Can Just Tell She Didn’t Listen to It’

The feud between famous pop stars Taylor Swift and Katy Perry is a topic of great interest.

When questioned by Access to Hollywood As for her thoughts on Swift’s new music, Perry wasted no time confirming, “I did listen to it, and it’s making waves around the world.”

While Perry’s answer seemed clear, it failed to allay social media users’ doubts.

Numerous people questioned the authenticity of Perry’s claim that she had listened to the album, and expressed concern over whether her words were merely a diplomatic attempt to avoid any controversy.

Additionally, the “I Kissed A Girl” singer’s response reportedly lacked the enthusiasm and detail typically associated with genuine appreciation for an artist’s work, according to social media users.

Fans noted that her recognition of The Tortured Poets Section popularity worldwide seemed disconnected from demand, raising suspicions about her true feelings about Swift’s new album.

Some fans pointed out inconsistencies in Perry’s past interactions with Swift, citing instances where Perry didn’t exactly seem supportive of her fellow musician.

According to an X, former Twitter user: “I can tell she didn’t listen to it and she doesn’t like it. You can just tell.”

Another social media user wrote: “The way she didn’t want to say it’s good because it’s BAD.”

A third said: “According to sources she was forced to do it,” while a fourth wrote: “Can you read body language. Didn’t you see how forced that was. But whatever you want to believe.”

However, some came to Perry’s defense.

“Knowing y’all Katy, she must have really been listening, like how many major celebrities actually named a not-so-mainstream album track like ‘My Tears Ricochet’ as their favorite from folklore???,” someone wrote.

Another suggested: “I KNOW she relates to so many songs, like I could do it with a broken heart.”

Last weekend, music streaming platform Spotify celebrated a major achievement: Swift’s album The department of tortured poets collected more than 300 million streams within 24 hours. Standout track “Fortnight” made history by becoming the platform’s most-streamed song daily, according to ET.

Swift also reached a major milestone by becoming the most streamed musician on Spotify in one day. This achievement led her to secure the top three positions for most streamed albums in a day, viz Midnights And 1989 (Taylor’s version). To further highlight her success, the album debuted as the most streamed on Amazon Music.

In light of data from Billboard, sales figures of TTPD have soared to an impressive 1.4 million copies on its debut day, eclipsing Swift’s previous record 1989 (Taylor’s version). This increase indicates strong potential for TTPD to make a significant impact on the Billboard 200 charts, potentially securing Swift’s 14th chart-topping album and positioning her alongside Jay-Z for the most No. 1 solo artists.
