Megan Thee Stallion sued for harassment and hostile work environment

Los Angeles, CA

Megan Thee Stallion has been sued by her former cameraman, who has accused her of harassment and creating a hostile work environment.

At the time of writing it is HipHopDX has not been able to confirm whether any documents have been filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court. However, plaintiff Emilio Garcia shared details about the ordeal NBC News.

He has revealed that his claims are based on harassment that was “so severe or pervasive” that it created a hostile work environment, making his working conditions “intolerable.” He is suing for damages, attorneys’ fees, unpaid wages plus interest on the unpaid wages, unpaid overtime and other employee benefits at the statutory rate.

The lawsuit, filed on Tuesday (April 23), claims he once witnessed the Houston Hottie having sex with another woman in a moving car while they were traveling in Ibiza.

“I felt uncomfortable. I was a little frozen and I was shocked. Actually, just have the guts to do this right, right next to me,” he said.

The photographer, who worked for Meg from 2019 to 2023, also claims he was threatened, shamed and silenced by her.

He also claims he thought about quitting, but was ultimately fired by 29-year-old Roc Nation’s management company the night before an assignment, prompting him to seek legal representation.

“Megan should simply pay our client what he is entitled to, acknowledge her behavior and stop this type of sexual harassment and fat shaming behavior,” Garcia’s attorney Ron Zambrano said in a statement to the newspaper.

“Emilio should never have been in the car with her while she had sex with another woman. ‘Inappropriate’ is putting it lightly. Exposing this behavior to employees is definitely illegal.”

Neither Roc Nation nor Megan Thee Stallion have commented on the lawsuit.

Zambrano is also representing one of Lizzo’s backup dancers in a sexual harassment lawsuit against the singer. Earlier this month, he accused the Michigan native of “playing the victim” when she announced her retirement from music.

In a statement obtained by Billboard in early April, he wrote: “It’s a joke that Lizzo would say she’s being bullied by the internet when she should instead take an honest look at herself.

“Her latest post is just another outburst of her seeking attention and trying to deflect from her own shortcomings while continuing to blame everyone for the predicament she finds herself in. Lizzo’s legal and public relations strategy is a failure, so she desperately tries to play the role of victim.

He continued, “She’s heard of these childish tantrums before. No one actually believes she’s quitting music. But she must stop sexually harassing, shaming and bullying her employees and finally accept responsibility for her actions.”

To make his point, he also referenced the recent allegations against Diddy and former Nickelodeon executive Dan Schneider.

“She can make this all go away by simply taking the opportunity here to set an example, own up to her mistakes, pay for what was done to the people she wronged and work to become a better person ,” he concluded.
