Two popular Minnesota attractions make the world’s most boring list!

Have you ever visited a tourist attraction, thinking it would be super cool, only to be completely disappointed? You are certainly not the only one, because there is now a list out the world’s most boring tourist attractions! And two popular attractions here in Minnesota are on that list.

We have some pretty fantastic tourist attractions, like, actually all of the North Shore, the Great Minnesota Get Together, the Minneapolis Institute of Art and many more. Which attractions are mentioned boring and why exactly?

How did this list come about? I can’t imagine one person having traveled to all of these tourist attractions to experience them first hand. No, it was actually created based on reviews.

Solitaired created a ranking system by analyzing 66.7 million Google reviews of 3,290 popular tourist attractions worldwide, spanning 384 cities in 71 countries, focusing on keywords like boring, tiring, dull, lifeless, mediocre, and more at each attraction boredom score to come up with the top 100 most boring.

Minnesota’s attractions didn’t make the top 10, but we did have two tourist attractions that deserved a boring badge.

Here are the top 5:

  1. Branson Scenic Railway in Missouri
  2. Illuminarium in Atlanta, Georgia
  3. Jurassic Jungle Boat Tour in Tennessee
  4. Salem Witch Museum in Massachusetts
  5. Lego Discovery Center in Atlanta

Some other interesting facts they discovered during their searches: Making up museums 33% of the top 100 most boring attractions! Isn’t that crazy? There are four LEGOLAND Discovery Centers in the top 25 and Georgia is the most boring state.

Have you been to Great Wolf Lodge lately? Then you’ve been to one of the most boring tourist attractions in the world (according to Solitaired). That’s right, Great Wolf Lodge came in 25th on the list. And right next to Great Wolf is Minnesota’s other attraction, the Crayola Experience at the Mall of America in 40th place.
