Famous Chefs Who Have Visited Maine

Maine is an incredible state with a lot to offer, from its natural beauty to its iconic towns and landmarks to its standout food.

So it’s not surprising that people want to visit it and get a “taste” of it.

That includes celebrity chefs who want to vacation in the Pine Tree State or simply dine at the many restaurants to be featured on one of their food TV shows. And of course we enjoy it all the way.

Maybe you even discovered some hidden gems by watching the Food Network and Travel Channel shows that stopped in Maine (or you just got ahead of the curve and knew about the spots long before the celebrity chefs shared them with the rest of the shared the world).

“Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” is a popular Food Network show that brought chef Guy Fieri to the state in 2010 to feast at the Maine Diner in Wells, Becky’s Diner and the Porthole in Portland, Bob’s Clam, among others Cabin in Kittery, and the Lobster Shack at Two Lights in Cape Elizabeth.

How many of these places have you been to?

For someone like “Top Chef” winner Kristen Kish, who now hosts the show, her more recent visit to Maine in 2023 was a combination of work and pleasure. She got to take in many of Maine’s sights, from Acadia National Park to eating fudge at a roadside store, in addition to working on her Travel Channel show.

And these two are just a few to see what Maine has to offer.

So let’s take a look at 12 celebrity chefs who visited Maine and the reason they stopped.

Tip: really tasty food is usually the solution.
