Timothy Ward

Growing up, he enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America.

Tim suffered from the life-changing illness schizophrenia in his late teens/early twenties. He moved to Lincoln for treatment and training to learn coping skills to help manage his illness. He was able to live independently in his own apartment, under the supervision of a social worker who assisted when necessary. Tim worked at an office cleaning company until his retirement. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed cycling and competing in the Nebraska State Games.

Tim’s physical health began to decline over the past year and with consent he was placed in Orchard Park Assisted Living in January 2024.

He was the eighth child in a family of ten. Survivors include one brother, Clark Ward of Lincoln and five sisters, Del Raye Ollenberger (husband Vernon Ollenberger) of Perryton, Texas, Penny Farris Poulter (husband Wes Poulter) of Augusta, Kan. , Niki Lage of York, Apola Ellis of Grand Island and Tina Richards (husband Gene Richards) of McCool Jct. Ne. as well as many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; parents; two brothers, Stephan Ward and Fred Ward and a sister, Sherry Poplin.

Burial will be private with family at Faith Evangelical Bible Cemetery in Henderson. Condolences may be sent to family at 531 E. 20th St. York, Ne. 68467.
