Doyle Sails joins forces with Ocean Crusaders • Live Sail Die

At Doyle Sails we attach great importance to the importance of our oceans. As sailors, we are intimately connected to the water: it is our playground, our refuge and a source of endless adventure. That’s why we’re excited to announce our partnership with Ocean Crusaders, founded by Ian Thomson in 2010. Inspired by his record-breaking circumnavigation of Australia, Ian founded Ocean Crusaders to tackle the urgent problem of waterway and beach pollution.

Harri Wren, Sustainability Manager at Doyle Sails, led this collaboration, which led to the successful removal of four tonnes of ocean waste in our first project alone. To put this achievement in perspective, that equates to eliminating approximately 400,000 coffee cups from our waterways. Wren emphasizes the importance of this milestone and underlines Doyle Sails’ continued commitment to preserving the environment and positive impact on the planet.

Building on this momentum, Doyle Sails New Zealand has pledged to remove 10kg of waste for every sail sold – a pledge we encourage our wider network to follow. We believe that even small actions can lead to profound changes over time, and we are committed to supporting our partners in shaping a more sustainable future.
