Barça exhausts the appeal of ordinary justice for the ‘phantom goal’ of the Classic

AFTER THE RFEF’S ‘NO’ TO PROVIDE EVIDENCE

The directive of FC Barcelona will follow the path taken to demand justice after the failures of the serious referee that damaged the club in the last Classic. As ‘RAC 1’ progresses, the club will resort to ordinary justice to claim all images and audio of the controversy played, who are in power at the Real Spanish Football Federation (RFEF). The federation body confirmed to Barça that it will not facilitate this material, as it never does so at any of the clubs in the competition.

On Monday, the RFEF published a video on its social networks of the conversations between Cesar Soto degreehead referee of the meeting and José María Sánchez Martinez, responsible maximum of the VAR, about the controversies played of the Classic, between them the ‘no goal’ of Lamine and the penalties committed by Pau Cubarsí on Lucas Vázquez. However, the video only contains an excerpt of the review from both playsinsufficient to determine whether or not the referees were correct with his decisions.

Barça seeks justice and sets a precedent in Spain

The club’s goal is to force the RFEF to supply all footage and audio from the Classic through an order. This is the first time something similar has happened in Spain, but not in Europe. The Disciplinary Board of the League of Belgium ordered the repetition of the celebration between Anderlecht and Genk (2-1 in December 2023) due to a VAR error that resulted in a legal goal for Genk being canceled. However, this was not a success due to the intervention of the Court of Belgian Sport (BAS) in favor of the local group.

“To confirm that it was a legal goal, we will go further and not ask descartamos for a repetition of the game, as it happened in a game of European field due to an error of the VAR”, Joan Laporta warned in a communiqué distributed through Barça’s social networks on Monday. Now the club will expect to acquire the equipment that will allow them to succeed in Sunday’s Classic, although the possibilities of them allowing the interests to flourish are minimal.
