UBA welcomes diplomats and business leaders to the World Bank Summit in Washington

UBA America, the US subsidiary of United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc, hosted diplomats, government officials and business leaders for a networking reception in partnership with the Business Council for International Understanding (BCIU) and the US Department of States in Washington DC.

The event, held on the sidelines of the ongoing Spring Meetings of the IMF and the World Bank, was organized by the BCIU and the US Department of State to enhance cooperation and strengthen commercial diplomacy between countries, institutions and individuals.

Speaking at the event, Oliver Alawuba, Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of UBA, noted that the bank’s co-hosting of the event through its US subsidiary underlines its commitment to cultivating robust relationships within the developing communities in the United States.

He said: “As a leading member of BCIU, a non-profit organization that provides customized commercial diplomacy services, UBA Group and UBA America share BCIU’s vision to actively pursue strategic opportunities, contribute to global economic cooperation, deepen economic diplomacy, facilitating ideas, forging partnerships and adding value for all stakeholders.

“Our decision to co-host this networking reception symbolizes our commitment to promoting inclusive economic growth and partnership across borders. By using platforms like this, we can jointly address shared challenges and seize opportunities for sustainable development.”

BCIU is a nonprofit organization composed of policy experts, strategic advisors and trade educators, providing customized commercial diplomacy services to governments and the world’s leading organizations, from Fortune 100 companies to global investors and multilateral institutions.

Yomi-Ajayi is committed to advancing the organization’s long-term growth and sustainability, strengthening the bond between UBA America, BCIU and the broader international community.
