Share your date plans with family and friends with Tinder’s latest safety feature

Tinder is taking additional steps to ensure the safety of its users with a brand new feature.

The popular dating app now offers a “Share My Date” feature.

Share My Date allows users to share their date plans with friends and even family members directly from the app.

The app provides a link for loved ones that a user can complete to record the location, date and time of an outing with a new match. There is also a photo of their match.

The links can be sent to anyone and Tinder allowed users to create an unlimited number of dates in the app to share up to 30 days in advance. If plans change, they can also be adjusted and updated.

According to Tinder, more than half of singles, 51%, under the age of 30 already let their friends know the details of their dates. New in-app survey data shows that one in five Tinder users, 18%, share their date plans with their mom.

“At Tinder, we continue to release new features that aim to create a fun, safe and respectful experience for everyone,” said Melissa Hobley, CMO of Tinder. “Discussing plans with friends and family is a time-honored dating ritual. Share My Date streamlines the sharing of basic information so singles can get straight to the exciting part, from figuring out what to wear to preparing conversation topics.

The feature will be rolled out in the US and other countries in the coming months.

In February, Tinder announced it would expand its ID verification process to four new countries, including the US, by the summer
