CIS introduces law regulating the use of artificial intelligence – Daryo News

The Standing Committee of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly on Science and Education has approved a draft model law aimed at regulating the use of artificial intelligence (AI). The organization’s website confirmed this development.

Parliamentary representatives took part in the meeting Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, together with representatives of scientific and expert communities. Sergei Kasanin, Deputy General Director for Scientific Work at the Joint Institute for Informatics Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, presented information on the progress of the document.

The primary purpose behind creating this legislation is to establish consistent regulations for public interactions related to AI use. These regulations are intended to improve people’s lives, ensure safety and promote economic and social development through the advancement, integration and use of AI technologies.

The statement emphasizes the need to establish uniform definitions and principles for AI use in the CIS countries. The aim is to propose standardized regulations conducive to technological progress within the region’s innovative economic framework.
