Bollywood actor Imran Khan was last seen in 2015 Katti Batti after which he took a sabbatical from acting and attempted a comeback. The actor recently spoke to Film Companion, where he opened up about the portrayal of violence in contemporary Hindi cinema.

He was quoted saying, “I have an idea where cinema is today. There is a glamourization, a fetishization and sexualization of violence that makes me uncomfortable. There is a way to portray violence. This is not a matter of morality. Violence and action are… it’s a language in cinema, but when we communicate it, when we portray it in films, there’s a way to do it where you feel the weight of it.”

“In the Joker movie, which came out a few years ago, there’s a scene where he suddenly attacks a man and stabs him to death. I remember watching that scene play out and it was crushing, brutal and horrifying. I was shaking… because that’s what violence is. When you see someone being stabbed to death, you will tremble,” he added.

The actor also caught everyone’s attention in 2019 after his divorce from his ex-wife Avantika Malik. Now, the actor has seemingly moved on as he is dating actor Lekha Washington. During a recent interaction with Vogue India, he confirmed his relationship with Lekha and also opened up about his divorce from his ex-wife.

Imran Khan said during the interaction that he finds the narrative surrounding Lekha as a ‘homewrecker’ infuriating. He said: “The speculation that I am in a relationship with Lekha Washington is true. I am divorced and separated since February 2019.” Recalling the time he bonded with Lekha, the actor added: “Lekha and I bonded during the lockdown, a year and a half after my separation from Avantika and almost a year after her separation from her partner , not from her husband. , as has been widely reported.”
