Victoria Beckham’s daughter-in-law Nicola Peltz has broken her silence over her absence from the former Spice Girl’s star-studded birthday party.

The 29-year-old shared a photo of David and Victoria Beckham with their children ahead of the 50th birthday party and wrote a few words to her fashion designer mother-in-law about why she couldn’t be with Brooklyn Beckham at the bash, revealing that she spent time instead spent with her grandmother.

The actress, who is married to Victoria and David’s eldest son, took to her Instagram Stories to share why she missed the glitzy party with the Beckhams. Nicola wrote: “Congratulations to my beautiful mil @victoriabeckham. I’m so sad I’m not there to celebrate and hug you! Sending all my love from me and my naunni (white love heart emoji) I miss you all so much!”

Nicola calls her beloved grandmother Gina ‘naunni’, who was her maid of honor when Nicola tied the knot with Brooklyn in 2022. Despite missing Victoria’s star-studded party, Nicola paid tribute to her 50th birthday with a special message on Victoria’s big day.

Nicola shared a photo of them together on Instagram and wrote: “Happy birthday to my beautiful mil @victoriabeckham. I love you so much and love being your dance partner forever.” Among the Hollywood stars who attended the party were Tom Cruise and Jason Statham, along with her Spice Girls bandmates, celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay and his wife Tana, actress Eva Longoria and model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.

On her 50th birthday, David also shared a gushing message to his wife on social media, writing: “Happy birthday to my beautiful wife. As you approach this birthday, you should look back and be proud of what you have accomplished, achieved and what you have built, Posh Spice, businesswoman and of course married to an English captain.

One of the highlights of the party was all the Spice Girls performing together for the first time in years, after Victoria turned down the chance to join the reunion tour a few years ago. Geri Horner, Emma Bunton, Mel C, Victoria and Mel B lined up side by side to perform 1997 hit Stop, with a delighted David capturing the moment on video as the women performed the song’s iconic moves.

He shared the video with eight heart emojis and wrote: “I mean come on x @victoriabeckham @melaniecmusic @officialmelb @emmaleebunton @gerihalliwellhorner.” It was a moment that fans loved and they responded en masse, with one commenting: “David you are the best social media manager out there, thank you for giving people CONTENT.” While another said: “The moment the whole planet has been waiting for.” A third joked: “I’m crying because David is the groupie here.”
