Biography of former Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court, Dilip B Bhosale, The Benevolent Judge, written by Kunal Vepa, Additional District Judge, Uttar Pradesh, was unveiled by Supreme Court judges Justice BR Gavai and Justice Vikram Nath in Mumbai on Sunday.

Mumbai: Biography of former Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court Dilip B Bhosale. The benevolent judgement, written by Kunal Vepa, Additional District Judge, Uttar Pradesh, was unveiled by Supreme Court judges Justice BR Gavai and Justice Vikram Nath at a ceremony on Sunday here in the presence of a number of sitting and retired judges of the Supreme Court and the Supreme Court.

Besides Justices Gavai and Nath, sitting Supreme Court judges Justice Pankaj Mithal, Justice Rajesh Bindal and Justice Prasanna Varale were also present on the occasion.

Justice Gavai recalled his old dealings with Justice Bhosale

Speaking on the occasion, Justice Gavai recalled his old association with Justice Bhosale since their early days and commended his qualities in dealing with difficult situations effectively.

“I am happy to launch this book. The book is an interesting read and chronicles the journey of this remarkable person (Justice Bhosale) from student to Chief Justice of one of the highest high courts of the country. Besides being a judge, he has also been a good friend and person, and the title of the book suits his personality. I congratulate Kunal Vepa for his efforts and the book will provide inspiration to the young generation of lawyers on how to work hard and how with the dedication and commitment they can also reach the top position and it will be a lighthouse for the young lawyers,” said Judge Gawai.

Justice Nath shared his experiences of working with Justice Bhosale as the Chief Justice of the Allahabad High Court with the audience and shared some light moments during their collaboration at India’s largest High Court, Allahabad.

Who is Justice Bhosale?

The biography of Justice Bhosale, who started his career as a judge at the Bombay High Court, chronicles his professional and personal journey and sheds light on the difficult situations he faced during his life and career and how he tackled those obstacles to find solutions for find the problems. Justice Bhosale worked at four high courts – the Bombay High Court, the Karnataka High Court, the Andhra Pradesh High Court and the Allahabad High Court – and was also a member of the country’s anti-corruption ombudsman Lokpal. He served as Acting Chief Justice of the Andhra Pradesh High Court and was later elevated as Chief Justice of the Allahabad High Court.

The book release function was chaired by Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court, Devendra Kumar Upadhyay.

Former Supreme Court judges Justice Ajay Khanwilkar, Justice Ashok Bhushan, Justice Veenit Saran and Justice Krishna Murari also graced the book publishing function.

Chief Justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court Ravi Mallimath, Chief Justice of the Madras High Court Sanjay Vijaykumar Gangapurwala, Senior Judge of the Allahabad High Court, Justice Manoj Gupta, Judges of the Allahabad High Court, Justice SD Singh and Justice Ajay Bhanot and Justice of the Gujarat High Court, Justice Manvendra Roy were also present among the audience during the book release ceremony.

CJI DY Chandrachud has written his message in the biography of Justice Bhosale

While Chief Justice of India Dr. DY Chandrachud has written his messages in Justice Bhosale’s biography, Justices Gavai and Justice Nath have written a foreword for ‘The Benevolent Judge’.

“Judge Bhosale’s work amid the legal fraternity and the judiciary reflects his commitment to the legal landscape of the nation,” CJI Chandrachud wrote in his message.

“I noticed the divine qualities in him. He has left an indelible footprint in all four high courts where he has served.” Justice Gavai wrote in the foreword of the book.

“The ability to take quick decisions and find effective solutions to extremely sensitive and critical issues was one of his greatest strengths,” Justice Vikram Nath wrote in the book’s foreword.

Additional District Judge Kunal Vepa, who narrated why he volunteered to write Justice Bhosale’s biography, recalled how he was encouraged by Justice Bhosale to argue the case in the Bombay High Court when he had started his legal practice as an advocate and the informed the public. that ‘The Benevolent Judge’ sheds light on Justice Bhosale’s personal and professional journey and provides answers to several questions related to Justice Bhosale such as why he was transferred from the Bombay High Court and why he resigned from Lokpal.

“If I have to describe Justice Bhosale in one word, I would describe him as a benevolent judge. He is the owner of a multi-dimensional personality and Justice Bhosale’s life and legacy will resonate from generation to generation from this book,” Justice Vepa said.
