Deadline extended for nominating your employer

It’s been a shaky time, to say the least, when it comes to job satisfaction.

New data released in February shows that employee satisfaction in Utah is at its lowest level in four years, pressured by disgruntled technology and especially nonprofit workers, while others appear to be happier.

Today, if you’re someone who cherishes your workplace, you have more time to spread the word about it.

For the eleventh year, The Salt Lake Tribune is sponsoring its annual Top Workplaces Awards program as a platform for employees to highlight their employers, large and small, for special recognition.

Energage, The Tribune’s research partner, has now extended its 2024 entry deadline to May 17.

The tech company based in suburban Philadelphia focuses on employee engagement and research and makes it all free, with no obligation to purchase anything. If you want to get involved, go to https://www.sltrib.com/nominate now.

All workplaces with 35 employees or more in the state can participate – whether they are public, private, nonprofit or a government entity.

Willing employees can then rate, describe and praise their employers as they see fit, through a short 24-question survey, through June. The results are expected to be published by The Tribune in September.

So far, more than 200 Utah employers have signed up to participate this year.

In 2023, Energage vetted more than 51,384 responses from Utah employees at nearly 200 workplaces.

The employee engagement company conducted similar sentiment surveys on behalf of the media in 65 markets last year, surveying more than 2 million employees at more than 8,000 organizations.
