Zendaya’s Met Gala shoe style through the years

While she has established herself as a renowned actress in the entertainment industry over the past fourteen years, Zendaya has also made a name for herself in the fashion world. She is known for pushing the boundaries and creating unpredictable looks at every opportunity. The actress and her veteran stylist Law Roach have set the bar high for red carpet fashion, especially during fashion’s favorite night of the year, the annual Met Gala.

After just five appearances at the annual fundraiser, this year she will take on the role of co-chair of the event alongside Bad Bunny, Jennifer Lopez and Chris Hemsworth. Although her appearance has not been revealed, her previous ensembles have proven that she will leave an impression from head to toe. Her previous looks have been accessorized with envy-worthy shoes from top labels like Christian Louboutin and Jimmy Choo.

Here’s a look at every shoe Zendaya wore to the Met Gala.

Classic black pumps

To make her debut at the 2015 Met Gala, Zendaya paired a plunging high-low dress with black Jimmy Choo pumps. The classic heels had a suede upper that ended in a pointed toe. The set was completed with a stiletto heel of approximately 10 cm high.

Satin sandals

Joining Michael Kors at the 2016 Met Gala, the actress slipped into a pair of gold platforms. The satin sandals poked through the front of her crystal-embellished open-toe dress. The back of the heels were hidden, but the platform base alone added 2 inches of height.

Sparkling Louboutins

Although her shoes were hidden beneath the voluminous off-the-shoulder dress at the 2017 Met Gala, Zendaya showed off her black Louboutin pumps at the Marc Jacobs afterparty. The pointed-toe heels featured a suede upper, embellished with a heart-shaped crystal embellishment along the vamp. A stiletto heel completed the look and added about 4 inches.

Metal platforms

Complementing the 2018 Met Gala’s “Heavenly Bodies” theme, Zendaya paired an armored dress with silver Jimmy Choo sandals. The open-toe heels featured a metal finish on the leather upper. The thin ankle strap supported the height coming from the platform sole and a 6-inch stiletto heel.

Cinderella’s glass slipper

Zendaya appropriately completed her Cinderella gown at the 2019 Met Gala with a pair of glass slippers. When the actress deliberately left a shoe on the iconic museum steps, the silhouette was exposed, showing off the bright PYC upper ending in a pointed toe. The silver footbed added a pop of color to the set and bounced off the sheer stiletto heel that stood about 4 inches high.
