George Stephanopoulos supported by famous friends including Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox to celebrate highly anticipated project

George Stephanopoulos has a highly anticipated project release to celebrate, and a bevy of famous friends to do it with!

Last weekend, the Good Morning America host was in Los Angeles with his wife Ali Wentworth to celebrate the upcoming release of his new book, The Situation Room: The Inside Story of Presidents in Crisisin which he explores the history of the White House’s famed Situation Room, providing insight into the various crises various U.S. presidents have handled from the elusive command center.

The fascinating book will be officially available to the public on May 14, but stars such as Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox have already received a nice sneak peek.

Over the weekend, Ali took to Instagram and shared a series of star-studded photos from her and George’s book party in Los Angeles.

She first shared a group photo showing JJ Abrams and his wife Katie McGrath – their daughter, singer Gracie Abramswas also in attendance – followed by another group photo with Jennifer, her good friend and Jimmy Kimmel’s wife Molly McNearney, Sean HayesAnd Amanda Anka, by Jason Bateman woman (en by Paul Anka daughter.)

Ali also shared a sweet photo of herself cozying up with Jennifer and Courteney, plus another funny photo of her and the The Morning Show actress mulls over the book.

“I got to celebrate ‘The Situation Room’ with our dear friends in LA, a few weeks before release day. Pre-order now!” Ali – himself the author of memoirs Ali’s Good That Ends Well: Stories of Despair and a Little Inspiration – wrote in the caption.

The comments section below the post quickly became as star-studded as the book party itself, with George’s GMA colleague Ginger Zee writes, “I can’t wait to read it,” as Ali’s good friend, Law and order: SVU star Mariska Hargitay added: “Congratulations. What a group!”

Others followed suit with, “Wow!! Congratulations,” and, “You guys are way too cool,” as well as, “Sooo excited to read this book!”

Before hosting GMA – he became co-anchor in 2009 – George served as senior advisor to the president for policy and strategy and White House communications director for President Bill Clinton.

His book will cover not only moments from Clinton’s time in office (presumably), but other pivotal moments in American history before and after, ranging from the assassination of John F. Kennedy and the attempted assassination of Ronald Reagantranscripts of the aftermath of September 11, the moments leading up to the attack that killed Osama bin Laden during the Obama administration, to even a story by staff in the Situation Room during the January 6 uprising in the capital.

“Along with the Oval Office, no place better exemplifies the power and mystery of the presidency than the White House Situation Room,” George said in a press release last year, adding, “The decisions that have been made in that windowless warren of the West Wing basement has shaped the fates of presidents and determined the course of history. Yet relatively little has been written about the city and the people who work there.”
