Ekiti State Government is shutting down the illegal water factory in Ado-Ekiti

Officials of the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources in Ekiti have shut down an illegal water factory in the Omisanjana area of ​​the capital.

Nigerian Tribune gathered that a team from environmental health officers, this weekend inspected the water factory, identified as A1 Pure Water in Ado-Ekiti, and uncovered several regulatory violations.

The leader of the teamSamuel Adebayo said the factory had been operating without the necessary permits and licenses, making its operations illegal and unlawful.

He added that the team discovered that the water source used to produce the sachet of water was identified as water from an abandoned well from a location across the road.

The practice, thus it increased serious health problems, adding that the use of Good water, especially without proper treatment and regulation, can lead to contamination of drinking water, exposing consumers to various health risks.

Adebayo said: “The operation of this water factory poses a direct threat to the health and safety of the people of Ekiti. We must take immediate action to prevent further damage to public health.

The water factory was found violating various standards and requirements set for the production of sachet water, further increasing the risk to public health.”

The Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Tosin Aluko-Ajisafe expressed concern about the situation, stating: “The illegal operation of A1 Pure Water represents a clear disregard for public health and safety regulations. We will not tolerate such actions that endanger the lives of our citizens.”

She explained that the closure of the water plant is a stern warning to other companies operating within the state to strictly adhere to environmental rules and standards.

The Commisioner WHO announced that the suspect has been arrested in connection with the factory handed over to the police for necessary prosecution, reiterated that the ministry would be committed to protecting the environment and promoting public health across the state.
