. Quxotic that a person who has never contested a Ward election in his life – Sanjay Tandon, makes predictions about the electoral success of the BJP

CHANDIGARH, Apr 21: Senior Congress leader and Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) candidate from Chandigarh parliamentary constituency today told BJP candidate Sanjay Tandon that time will tell who was living in a fool’s paradise.

“Ibtidai ishq hai, rota hai kya, aage aage dekhiye hota hai kya,” Tewari remarked in a quip to Tandon, adding that the battle and final countdown have just begun and the verdict will be pronounced on June 4.

“Not just Mr Tandon, all the BJP candidates will face the heat of the voters which will be more intense and fierce than the summer heat because of the deliberately forgotten promises like 20 crore jobs and Rs 15 lakh cash deposits in bank accounts of all Indians,” the former union minister noted while referring to Prime Minister Modi’s promises.

Replying to a question on Tandon saying that Tewari was living in a fool’s paradise for his claims that INDIA will win the elections, the former union minister said, it is not just the independent and neutral observers who are saying that the decline and fall of the BJP was imminent, even the BJP’s internal surveys say so and that is why they have pressed the panic buttons.

It is indeed quixotic that a gentleman – Mr. Sanjay Tandon, who has never contested a district election in his life, is making predictions about the mythical electoral success of the BJP.

Meanwhile, Tewari had an insightful interaction with the residents of the city in Sector 29, focusing on the issues affecting the area. He was accompanied by Chandigarh Congress Committee Chairman Harmohinder Singh Lucky, former Chandigarh Mayor Surinder Singh, Senior AAP leader Chander Mukhi Sharma, Chandigarh Congress General Secretary Rajiv Moudgil and other leaders of INDIA Alliance.

Tewari told residents that Chandigarh needed a comprehensive and all-new development plan that would meet the new needs of the city. He appreciated the support residents gave him.

Earlier in the day, he conducted a ‘pad yatra’ in Mauli Jagran area and interacted with the people there. While appealing for their voices and support, he also inquired about the problems they were facing and assured that they would be resolved.

He also promised regularization of the houses built outside the Lal Dora, which has been a long-pending demand of the residents.

Mukesh Rai, Lekhpal, Sri Pal verma and Satvir Singh Sangwan, among others, were also present
