Fitness guru Michelle Bridges has spoken some inspiring words for women over 50 as she enjoys a mid-life career revival.

The author, 53, who recently graced the screens of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! Australia told The Herald Sun she refuses to let age deter her from her career.

“I’m a bada** and I’m about to kick ass. At this age we don’t stand on the sidelines, we raise our hands and say: choose me.’

“We have earned our stars, we have earned our stripes, we have knowledge, maturity, wisdom and we can take it with us into an exciting next chapter,” she added.

The personal trainer became the fourth star to be voted out of the jungle last weekend and described the experience as a ‘reality check’.

Discussing her participation in the show, Michelle admitted she missed her son Axel, eight, ‘like crazy’ but was determined to continue in the competition.

She also revealed that she had been invited to appear on the show many times and had finally “found a gap in her schedule” this year.

It comes as Michelle admitted she was disappointed to have missed the I’m A Celebrity final.

“I won’t lie, I’m disappointed. I would have loved to stay a little longer,” she admitted in her exit interview.

‘I enjoyed meeting new people and I made some good friendships there, I won’t lie. There are some really great people I have connected with and I know I will have that connection from the outside as well.”
