Astronomers discover the largest black hole in the Milky Way galaxy

A study published last week has revealed the discovery of a black hole. With a mass as much as 33 times that of the Sun, this stellar black hole is the most massive ever observed in our Milky Way Galaxy.

The colossal black hole, named Gaia BH3, was discovered through the analysis of data collected by the European Space Agency’s Gaia mission, as described by Pasquale Panuzzo, an astronomer from the National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) of the Observatoire de Paris.
