Man who set himself on fire linked to Dem lawmaker; ABC criticizes ‘appeal of Trump melodrama’

The now deceased man who set himself on fire during former President Donald Trump’s hush money trial has direct ties to the Democrats.

According to the late Maxwell Azzarello’s LinkedIn profile, he worked for current Democrat Tom Suozzi in 2013, when Suozzi was campaigning for Nassau County Executive at the time.

His duties include preparing Suozzi for debates, drafting press releases and overseeing Suozzi’s social media presence. Look below:

Suozzi confirmed to the New York Post that Azzarello did indeed once work for him.

“Max Azzarello worked on my campaign for Nassau County Executive as part of the field staff in 2013,” he said. “Although I haven’t seen or spoken to Max since, I remember him being very kind, smart and hardworking. It is tragic that he succumbed to his injuries and I keep Max and his family in my prayers.”

The following year, 2014, Azzarello worked for the re-election campaign of current Democratic Rep. Ami Bera.

His duties this time included conducting donor research/outreach, managing “all online public communications” and organizing public events for donors and volunteers.

“I remember Max working on one of my first campaigns,” Bera said in a statement after Azzarello’s death. “This is tragic news and my thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time.”

Azzarello’s LinkedIn also shows that he once worked for the Liberty Hill Foundation, a left-wing nonprofit focused on “social justice.”

“Liberty Hill is a laboratory for social justice and social change,” reads the nonprofit’s mission. “We leverage the power of community organizers, donor activists and allies to advance social justice through strategic investments in grants, leadership training and campaigns.”

“Liberty Hill envisions a society in which all people have a strong voice, including those currently excluded from our democracy, people cut off from opportunity because they are poor, because of the color of their skin, because of their gender or sexual orientation, because of where they live or where they were born,” it continues.

Azzarello has never worked for a Republican or right-wing nonprofit/think tank in Congress. Yet this fact has not stopped the media from desperately trying to link him to the right, and to Trump in particular.

An example:

In the above clip, ABC News’ Terry Moran seemed to suggest that Trump was responsible for Azzarello setting himself on fire.

“So it appears that the pull of the Trump melodrama that has gripped the nation since he came down the escalator has now led someone to come to where protesters have gathered and set themselves on fire “, he said.

Later he doubled down.

“But the Trump era, in which we have been living since he came down the escalator in 2015 to announce his presidential campaign and change American politics, has brought it to a level of intensity, the style, the rhetoric and the A policy that – that he proposed – is so different, so inspiring to some, so infuriating to others, that we are as polarized in the country now as we have ever been,” he said.

“And the emotions around politics are being heightened to something that we haven’t seen since the 1960s in this country where, you know, there was a lot of unrest and unrest,” he added.

Listen:

The actual evidence so far strongly suggests that Azzarello was simply an unhinged conspiracy theorist who taunted both sides.

The evidence includes his firm belief that Trump, current President Joe Biden and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton are secretly plotting to “fascist coup” the country.

“Trump is involved,” he had said before his death, according to The New York Times. “It is a secret kleptocracy and can only lead to an apocalyptic fascist coup.”
