Chief Secretary Oota Masami says there are many openings in Japan’s agricultural sector

MEDZIPHEMA, APRIL 21 (MExN): First Secretary (Food and Agriculture), Embassy of Japan in India, Oota Masami, made her maiden visit to the School of Agricultural Sciences, Nagaland University, Medziphema Campus on April 16. She was accompanied by Nagatoshi Shibata, Vice President/Director, H&A, Arms Incorporation, India; Temjen Bursanen Jamir, H&A, HR Head/Education Leader, Arms Incorporation, Nagaland; Dr. Limanungla Longkumer, Investment Officer, IDAN, GoN and Dr. Arenla, HR Officer, IDAN, GoN.

The visit was coordinated by Human & Arms (H&A), Arms Incorporation, India, a Japanese company offering a Technical Intern Training Program (TITP) with the aim of improving employability and sustainability in development; A press release issued by the NU:SAS was informed together with the IDAN officials.

The Chief Secretary in her address at the informal meeting with the faculty and undergraduate and postgraduate students said that her visit was the first phase to promote the plan to hold a job fair in Dimapur that the Japanese Embassy will organize sometime in the future . October this year.

She told the gathering that her embassy was specifically targeting Nagaland for the job fair and hoped that the students of SAS:NU would participate in the job fair as there are many job opportunities in Japan in the agricultural sector, especially in horticulture and livestock farming. Nagatoshi Shibata, Vice President/Managing Director of H&A, Arms Incorporation, India, said he was optimistic about furthering cooperation and promoting exchanges between Japan and Nagaland.

Pro-Vice Chancellor, SAS:NU, Prof. Akali Sema, who was actively involved in coordinating the visit, welcomed the team and expressed her gratitude and hoped that students of SAS:NU, Medziphema campus would get the opportunity to take advantage of job opportunities and gain first-hand experience of Japanese culture and professionalism.
